Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us via the Contact page or email londonsolereflexology@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Reflexology should not be painful, although you may experience some discomfort or sensitivity in certain areas. The pressure applied by the reflexologist should be firm but not painful, and you should communicate with your reflexologist if you experience any discomfort during the session. Some worry it will tickle but this is rarely the case due to the techniques used.

Reflexology may be beneficial for couples who are trying to conceive, as it can help to reduce stress and promote relaxation. However, it should not be used as a substitute for medical treatment or advice. If you are having trouble conceiving, it is important to consult with your healthcare provider to rule out any underlying medical conditions.

Yes, Reflexology can be safely enjoyed during pregnancy. There is no evidence that reflexology causes miscarriage, however you may wish to wait until the 2nd trimester when the risks of miscarriage are naturally reduced, to avoid any anxiety around this.

Whilst there are many anecdotally described benefits of Reflexology during Pregnancy, it is generally agreed that Reflexology can help with several of the challenges often faced during pregnancy, such as improving sleep, promoting relaxation, releasing tension, improving mood and providing a sense of wellbeing and rejuvenation.

Reflexology can be safely enjoyed during peri/menopause, whether you are using HRT or not. There are many anecdotally described benefits of Reflexology during Peri/Menopause, and some small studies show it to help with some of the specific symptoms, but it is generally agreed that Reflexology can help with several of the common symptoms, such as improving sleep, promoting relaxation, releasing tension, improving mood and providing a sense of wellbeing and rejuvenation.

The length of time it takes to see results from reflexology can vary depending on the individual. Some people may experience immediate benefits while others may require several sessions before noticing any changes. It is important to be patient and consistent with your reflexology treatments in order to achieve the best results.

At London Sole Reflexology we cover most postcodes across SW London, parts of SE London, North Surrey, and South Central London.  Workplace wellbeing and reflexology for retreats can be arranged for all of Central London.

Treatments take place on your own bed, and you will be asked only to provide a large towel, and a blanket.

You remain fully clothed during the treatment, but it is recommended that you wear loose fitting trousers which can be comfortably rolled up to the knee. You will be asked to remove your socks and shoes, and wash your feet before your Reflexologist arrives.

There are a few health conditions that are considered to be contraindications for Reflexology, such a s DVT/blood clots, an unstable heart condition, if you recently commenced taking Warfarin, significant injuries or an infection in your feet/lower legs, athlete's foot, any contagious condition, or will be undergoing medical test/treatments shortly before/after the treatment. You will be asked to confirm that these do not apply when booking, and for details of any other significant medical conditions, which can be discussed as needed.

We agree the timings and how many sessions will be provided when booking. The treatments will need to take place in a private room, and each employee will be asked to complete a short form prior to booking a time slot for their treatment to confirm that Reflexology is suitable for them. If required I can provide a treatment chair and everything else needed for the sessions. Proximity to a sink and W/C is helpful if possible.
