Menopause Support in the Workplace

Reflexology as a valuable component of Menopause support

Why Offer Menopause Reflexology to Employees?

As workplaces become more aware of the need to support valuable employees through menopause, the conversation is rightly expanding beyond policy into practical, holistic wellbeing solutions. One approach that deserves far more attention in this space is reflexology.

Menopause can bring a wide range of physical and emotional symptoms — from hot flushes and sleep disturbances to anxiety, fatigue, and difficulty concentrating. These symptoms don’t switch off at the office door, and for many employees, they can have a real impact on confidence, performance, and overall wellbeing at work.

Reflexology offers a gentle, non-invasive way to support the body during this transition. By applying targeted pressure to specific points on the feet, reflexology aims to promote relaxation and support the body’s natural balance to encourage rejuvenation. While it isn’t a cure for menopause symptoms, many people report feeling calmer, sleeping better, experiencing an improvement in mood and sense of wellbeing after a session.

So why should reflexology be part of workplace menopause support?

Firstly, it directly addresses stress through allowing a time and space for employees to benefit from a personalised reflexology session that encourages them to relax at work. Feeling overwhelmed and stressed is of the most common and exacerbating factors of menopause symptoms. Creating opportunities for employees to access reflexology signals that the organisation takes stress management seriously.

Secondly, it supports inclusivity in wellbeing. Whether employees are already accessing  medical help or not, offering complementary therapies like reflexology provides choice and respects different preferences in managing health.  Holistic therapies such as reflexology can also be used safely alongside hormone replacement therapy (HRT).

Thirdly, it may help reduce absenteeism and presenteeism. When employees feel supported, they are more likely to stay engaged, productive, and confident in their roles.

Integrating reflexology into menopause support helps normalise the conversation. It shifts menopause from being a hidden struggle to a recognised life stage that workplaces actively support — practically, not just rhetorically. Many women independently seek help with Reflexology during menopause but may be limited by cost and lack of time. An employer who provides this at work is the ideal solution.

Finally, all that is needed for Reflexology at work is a quiet room, a Reflexology chair and stool.

Forward-thinking organisations are already expanding their wellbeing strategies to include menopause-specific support. Adding reflexology into that mix is a simple but powerful way to enhance employee care, demonstrating a truly holistic approach to workplace wellbeing. Because supporting menopause at work isn’t just about policies — it’s about people.

How does it work in practice?

Here's what you need to do to arrange Menopause Reflexology in your workplace

- Choose whether you would like a half day, a full day or a number of days. Based on each person having a 30 minute session (recommended,) a half day would equate to 7 sessions, whilst a full day would be 14 sessions. 20, 40 and 60 minute sessions are also an option depending on your preferences. Specific requests for a different format of day can also be discussed

- Contact me to agree a date. A 50% deposit will be payable on booking the date

- I will let you know everything that you need to do to set up the day in advance to ensure it runs smoothly, but the main considerations are to provide a quiet room and to take bookings from employees for the specific time slots available in advance, ensuring they complete a short workplace treatment form when booking.

Pricing

Employer funded - quotations will be provided on a customised basis depending on requirements.

OR

If employees have work provided cashback plans or health insurance which covers Reflexology, a hybrid version of a reflexology day can be arranged whereby employees part or fully self fund the cost of the treatments, and can claim it back This version would be subject to a guaranteed minimum number.

Why work with London Sole Reflexology for your Employee Wellbeing in the Workplace?

Rather than going through an agency or third party corporate wellbeing provider, you will be dealing directly with me when arranging Reflexology for your employees. As the Reflexologist I am uniquely positioned to answer all relevant questions about the therapy and the logistics, and can be more flexible when considering specific requests or circumstances.

With my background working in previous industries, and 7 years working directly with clients as a Reflexologist in London, I prioritise prompt and professional communication at all times. This ensures that your wellbeing days go smoothly, optimising the benefits for employees and employers.

Where necessary I have other therapists available to work with me on larger wellbeing events/days, who I personally know and recommend.  These include other Reflexologists, Masseurs, Pilates and Yoga instructors.

Other details

Reflexology is a non-invasive treatment where the recipients remain fully-clothed (other than removing their socks and shoes), meaning it is convenient for a work environment.

As a member of the Association of Reflexologists (AoR), I am fully qualified and insured, with specialist training and experience in Menopause Reflexology

Danish Case Studies looking at the effects of Reflexology at work

In the 1990s several small on-site reflexology studies were carried out in large companies in Denmark. The results indicated changes in absenteeism, stress, ailments and also of loyalty and increased satisfaction in their jobs when a reflexologist was available.  Setting aside any reported changes in the physical symptoms of ailments, these studies still demonstrated many possible benefits of well-being treatments for employees and employer. Ref: Eriksen, L., "Municipal Reflexology." Zoneterapeuten (Journal of the Danish Reflexologists Association, FDZ), Number 6, 1992.

In general, reflexology may help employees to relax, improve their mood, aid better sleep, and promote a general sense of well-being. Providing the opportunity for them to receive the treatments may also enhance a sense of loyalty and satisfaction with the company, which in turn will benefit the employers.
